Percentage basics
“Percent” means per hundred. 25% means 25 out of every 100, or 0.25 as a decimal. To find X% of Y, multiply Y by X/100. To find what percent X is of Y, divide X by Y and multiply by 100. Percent change between X and Y is ((Y − X) / |X|) × 100.
